Tensions are rife in Oleh community following an age long land tussle which today took a bloody twist.
According to reports made available to Aprokorepublic, the Ozoro and Oleh communities, both in Delta State- Nigeria, have been at loggerheads over a long strip of land which acts as a boundary for both communities, but which neither has agreed to relinquish to the other.
The embattled strip of land is said to contain several different plots belonging to different families, amongst which were those of the ill-fated lady who met her death allegedly at the hands of suspected Oleh youths.
In an unconfirmed audio note shared with Aprokorepublic by an eyewitness, the said lady (name withheld) visited the disputed land where her farm is located, and was reportedly confronted by suspected Oleh residents, a little argument was said to have ensued, after which the lady was overpowered and killed.
The youths of Ozoro community vowing to avenge her death were said to have buried α plantain tree upside down which according to legend is a declaration of war. Efforts by Aprokorepublic to reach the youth leaders of both communities proved abortive as none of the available contacts were connecting.
