On Friday 8th may 2020 a federal government special team was inaugurated in Anambra state as emergency Covid19 response task team.
The special task Force which comes into being few weeks after the Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano relaxed lockdown measures in the state is set up to look into and proffer recommendations on the challenges of movement of food and Agriculture inputs in Nigeria.
Amongst its stated objectives are:
TERMS OF REFERENCE
•To laise with all relevant security outfits to ensure free movement of food, livestock, agro inputs like seeds and chemical from outside and within the state this lockdown period due to covid 19 pandemic without compromising security and health standards.
•To establish similar structure in all our LGA’s for effective operation.
•To laise with NARTO, NURTW and other stakeholders involved in road transport business to achieve set goals.
•To emeliorate all obstacles towards achieving food security and eliminate hunger.
•To employ other strategies towards achieving team mandate.
The task force was inaugurated with Commissioner of police, JB Abang as its chairman, and Comr. Arthur Mbuba as its secretary.
Some other members of the team include Com Emma Ifesinachi(NUJ), Hon Joseph Madubuko(AFAN), NSCDC boss represented by SC Ulasi Okwuchukwu and Representatives of NURTW and NARTO.
